Swim Meet Information
We participate in the Union County Outdoor Swim League:
Child Participation - each contestant is limited to three events and one relay. A
swimmer can swim in a higher age group, but can not swim the same stroke in
different age groups.
Scoring - 5 points for first place, 3 for second, 1 for third. No club may sweep an
event; they can receive a maximum of 8 points with 1 point going to the other team
assuming it has a swimmer in the event. If all events are contested, there is a total of
531 points possible between the two teams.
Order of events - In order; individual medley, freestyle, breast stroke, backstroke,
butterfly, relays. In each case, we begin with the youngest girls through to the oldest
boys.
Adult Participation - UCOSL meets are staffed and run by parent volunteers. It
sends an excellent message to your children when they see you helping out.

It is important for parents of new swim team members to attend this meeting to learn about
the team, parent responsibilities and to meet the coaches. If you can't attend, please print out
the 2013 Registration Form and return it with payment to the front desk by June 9.
Ultimate Swim Shop will be at the pool for swimsuit sales on Friday, June 14,
4-6pm. The team will be getting a new swimsuit this year. ALL SWIMMERS
NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW SWIMSUIT FOR THE 2013 SEASON.
Swim Officials Training to be held at the
Scotch Plains-Fanwood YMCA, Wed June 27 - 7pm
